      Strawberry Preserves      


from Nancy Hunt
-1 qt. fresh strawberries
-4 cups sugar

-Wash berries, hull, cover with boiling water. Let stand about 5 seconds in boiling water.
-Put immediately in collander or strainer and drain.
-Return drained berries to pan and add 2 cups sugar.
-Let come to a boi, stirring constantly.
-Add remaining sugar and boil 5 more minutes.
-Cover and let stand 24 hours
-Spoon into jelly glasses and seal.
